Clean Your Files Day for Businesses – an Earth Week Success
In recognition of Earth Day, DPW provided City businesses an opportunity to recycle even more with Clean Your Files Day. The event, held during Earth Week on April 24, collected paper files, reports, spreadsheets, flyers and booklets and other material from 40 Baltimore businesses and institutions. DPW collected 8.5 tons of recyclables in this effort, items that might normally have been included in regular trash.
Businesses and residents are encouraged to make everyday Earth Day by recycling more. They can use any container they like except plastic bags which jam our vendor’s recycling equipment. Recycle plastic bags at grocery stores and supermarkets.
To find out more about recycling or to learn how your business or institution can participate in the City’s recycling program, call the Baltimore Office of Recycling at 410-396-4511.
