Residential Trash Collection

DPW picks up residential trash across the City of Baltimore. Baltimore City provides a Municipal Trash Can (Green Cart!) to every residential address receiving trash collection by the City. These durable, wheeled trash cans are equipped with attached, tight-fitting lids that have proven effective in keeping streets and alleys clean, and in deterring rodents.

Baltimore is recycling! DPW picks up residential recycling throughout the City. DPW provides residents with a municipal recycling cart (the blue cart!) Just fill your  recycling cart with approved materials: paper, cans, cardboard boxes, bottles, and place cart out for collections. Check our recycling map to find your recycling collection day.

Bulk Trash Pickup and Large Item Removal

City of Baltimore residents can put out up to 3 bulk  items for trash collection each month. 

Drop Off Centers

Our convenient drop-off locations are free of charge for city residents to dispose of household waste and recyclable items. 

Household Hazardous Waste

Household hazardous waste collections are offered to residents the first Friday and Saturday of the month April through October. Dates may be adjusted for holidays.
