Household Hazardous Waste
We use many products around the house, garage and garden that contain chemicals or materials that can harm people and the environment. These items should not be put in the trash. Often, these products are marked with labels that read:
![]() | Caution |
![]() | Corrosive |
![]() | Flammable |
![]() | Poison |
Household hazardous waste materials must be handled, stored and recycled according to specific guidelines and regulations.
Baltimore City residents may recycle their household hazardous waste at our Sisson Street Drop-Off Center located at 2840 Sisson Street.
Household hazardous waste collections are offered to residents the first Friday and Saturday of the month April through October. Dates may be adjusted for holidays.
Businesses and commercial users are not permitted to drop their hazardous waste at this facility and should contact a private vendor for disposal. Commercial vehicles are also not allowed at this facility.
For more information about recycling hazardous materials, please view the Maryland Department of the Environment's fact sheet.
