Mayor’s Fall Cleanup is October 25, 2014
October 1, 2014 (Baltimore, MD) — Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds residents that Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s 2014 Fall Cleanup is on Saturday, October 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 2014 theme, Graffiti and Trash Scar our City, encourages Baltimore residents to make a commitment to clean their neighborhoods and to report locations for graffiti removal by DPW crews. Last fall, 135 communities participated, and now is the time for your neighborhood to commit to this effort to CLEAN UP BALTIMORE.
As an extra incentive to participate, residents and property owners can earn credits to reduce their Maryland Stormwater Fee. Participating in organized cleanups, such as this, may qualify these individuals for the fee reduction. When a neighborhood association registers for the Fall Cleanup, they should be sure to ask about this credit program.
Baltimore residents are encouraged to pick a location that needs a special cleanup and/or graffiti removal, and call 311 to register. Participating communities are asked to bag and stack collected debris at a designated location so that it can be picked up on Monday, October 27. Participants should provide this debris pickup location when they register at 311. Limited supplies of trash bags are available to registered communities at the following DPW locations: 111 Kane Street, Baltimore, MD 21224 (October 20 to 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and 2840 Sisson Street, Baltimore, MD 21211 (October 20 to 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
