Call Center Wait Times May Temporarily Increase
October 29, 2014 (BALTIMORE, MD) — The call center for the Customer Support and Services Division of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works is advising customers that call times are likely to be longer from Friday, Oct. 31, until Friday, Nov. 7.
A renovation project aimed at expanding the call center, and allowing even better service for our customers, will displace more than half of the 14 representatives who take calls. When the work is done and service is fully restored on Nov. 7, there will be room for 22 representatives who will be able to better handle questions and concerns.
During the impacted period, customers may find that calling during somewhat slower periods at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. helps reduce the wait to speak to a representative. The call center handles questions related to water bills; its number is (410) 396-5890.
Much of the renovation will be done over the weekend and over Election Day, when City offices are closed anyway.
