Gay Street Water Main Restored
BALTIMORE, MD - The repairs to the 16" diameter water main at Gay and Saratoga Streets were completed yesterday. A new 16" water valve was also installed this past weekend. Repairs to a communications conduit will begin today.
At this same location, a 24" diameter storm drain was discovered to have been damaged. Storm drain repairs will be done this weekend. In order to complete the work, Gay Street between Lexington Street and Saratoga Street will be totally closed to traffic throughout the weekend, beginning at 7:00 p.m. this Friday, February 13. The street will be open to at least two lanes before rush hour on Monday, February 16.
Buildings in the vicinity of the break WILL NOT have their water interrupted for this work except for one structure near Lexington and Gay Streets. The owners of that property have been notified. All work, including re-paving (weather permitting), should be completed next week.
Citizens with any water-related questions or concerns can call 311 in Baltimore City; 410-396-5352 in Baltimore County.
