DPW Announces Weather-Related Service Changes

BALTIMORE, MD – Due to the frigid temperatures, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works said its crews may not be able to complete all trash and recycling pickups scheduled for today, Friday, February 20. The weather is also expected to hinder makeup collections scheduled for Saturday, February 21.

Citizens should put their trash or recycling out on their next regularly scheduled collection day. Citizen drop-off centers WILL remain open as scheduled.  Citizen drop-off hours are 9am until 5pm, Monday through Saturday at the following convenience centers:

  • Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road
  • Western Sanitation Yard, 701 Reedbird Avenue
  • Eastern Sanitation Yard, 6101 Bowleys Lane
  • Northwest Citizens’ Convenience Center, 2840 Sisson Street
  • The Northwest Transfer Station at 5030 Reisterstown Road is open Monday through Saturday from 7am until 3pm.

As a reminder, bulk collections must be rescheduled by calling 311.

Residents who enroll in paperless billing by Friday, June 30, will receive the 5% discount.
