Sewer Overflow Abated - Waterview Avenue
BALTIMORE – A blockage in a 12 inch sewer line caused an overflow of more than 12,000 gallons in the 2900 block of Waterview Avenue near the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River. The overflow started around 11:15 this morning, and was abated before 3:30 this afternoon when crews installed pumps and temporary lines to bypass the blockage.
The Maryland Department of the Environment and the Baltimore City Health Department have been notified. Citizens are encouraged to avoid contact with urban streams due to possible pollution. Baltimore City is in the construction phase of the $1 billion Consent Decree rehabilitation of our sewer infrastructure.
