Emergency Water Repairs to Impact Portions of Canton Next Week
BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., today announced that emergency repairs to a 20-inch water main, and to six water valves, will result in temporary water outages on several Canton-area streets. These locations and times are as follows:
Monday, February 8, 2016
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Water service will be temporarily interrupted while emergency replacement work is performed on three water valves. This will disrupt water service to 165 properties.
- South Montford Avenue between Foster Avenue and Fait Avenue
- Fait Avenue between South Montford Avenue and South Lakewood Avenue
- South Glover Street between Foster Avenue and Hudson Street
- South Port Street between Fait Avenue and Hudson Street
Wednesday, February 10, 2016
9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Water service will be temporarily interrupted while emergency repair work is performed on a 20-inch water main, located at the intersection of Fait Avenue and S. Luzerne Avenue. Three nearby water valves will also be replaced. This will disrupt water service to 293 properties.
- South Chester Street between Eastern Avenue and Bank Street
- Eastern Avenue between South Washington Street and South Montford Avenue
- South Montford Avenue between Eastern Avenue and Foster Street
- Foster Avenue between South Luzerne Avenue and Essex Street
- 2200 to 2300 blocks of Essex Street
- S. Luzerne Avenue between Foster Avenue and Hudson Street
Notifications are being delivered to these customers. Once service is restored, it would be beneficial to open a tap in the basement of your property and let the water run. This should clear the water within five to ten minutes. Removing the aerator from the faucet will expedite this process and prevent blockage from sedimentation.
