Warren Road Bridge, which spans the Loch Raven Reservoir in northern Baltimore County, remains on schedule for a mid-August reopening after being closed for emergency repairs.

Engineers in the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) closed the bridge in March when an inspection found defects in several of the span’s supports and determined the bridge to be unsafe.

The reservoir, as well as the land, roads and bridges around it, are owned by the City of Baltimore. DPW purifies the reservoir water into drinking water for more than 400,000 accounts in the City and County.

Since the emergency closure on March 23, a contractor has been engaged to perform the work, and materials are being manufactured to replace those portions of the bridge determined to be unsound. Work will begin as soon as possible to meet the mid-August deadline.
