Christmas and New Year's Holidays Observed

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds City residents that the Christmas and New Year’s holidays will be observed on Monday, December 26, 2016, and Monday, January 2, 2017 . Department of Public Works’ offices and yards will be CLOSED on those two Mondays.  

  • Trash, recycling, and bulk collections are NOT scheduled for December 26 and January 2.
  • Drop-off centers and yards will be CLOSED on those two Mondays.  
  • Mechanical street sweeping will NOT take place, and street sweeping parking restrictions will NOT be in effect. 
  • Parking meters will NOT be in effect only on December 25 and January 1.
  • NOTE: Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are NOT City holidays. This means that City drop-off centers will be OPEN on December 24, and December 31, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., except for the Northwest Transfer Station which will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Recycling Reminder:

Please remember to recycle your holiday wrappings and beverage containers from your seasonal gatherings. Paper, cardboard, glass and plastic bottles and jars, aluminum and metal cans, and even Styrofoam (drop-off only), are among these recyclables. Residents who enroll in paperless billing by Friday, June 30, will receive the 5% discount.
