TOMORROW: Dam Jam 2017!

Come out to celebrate the Baltimore region’s drinking water reservoirs! The celebration will be Saturday, Aug 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event takes place at the Cromwell Valley Park (Willow Grove Nature Center) 2175 Cromwell Bridge Road.

Dam Jam is presented by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW), in partnership with Baltimore County and the Hamilton Art Collective.

Dam Jam features visual and craft artisans, live music, history displays, native wildlife presentations, and an organized history hike that will explore a historic lime kiln. There will be fun activities for the kids: face painting, Lego and coloring stations, and an interactive storm drain tunnel.  

Admission is FREE, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to experience the entire day's events. Food vendors will also be on-site. 

No parking will be available at the Loch Raven Dam due to ongoing construction at the site. Parking is available at the Cromwell Valley Park, where there be will be continuous free shuttles to take visitors to Loch Raven Dam.

“I urge both Baltimore City and County residents to attend Dam Jam 2017 to have fun and also to learn about our regional water system, our history, and our watershed lands. Loch Raven Reservoir and Cromwell Valley Park are two of the most beautiful places to explore in the Baltimore area,” said DPW Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E.  

Top notch musical entertainment will be provided by the Cold Spring Jazz Quartet, which will open up the festival. The quartet will perform from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 

The afternoon music entertainment is provided by the Panama Band. This talented group is well-known at events throughout the area, and they capture the sounds of summer soul, pop, and R&B. The group will perform from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
