Registration Deadline Extended to Friday, April 6, 2018

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., has announced that the deadline to register for “Face-Time with Primes,” a small business networking event, has been extended until Friday, April 6, 2018.  The event will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 3501 Hillen Road.  Already 50 interested individuals have signed up to attend.

Mayor Catherine E. Pugh and Director Chow will be on-hand for the event, joined by guest speaker Robert Harrington of R.E. Harrington Plumbing and Heating Company, Inc.  “Face-Time with Primes” will allow contractors and consultants to network with each other to learn about opportunities to engage in Baltimore City projects.

Small, local, and minority businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this event.  Interested participants must sign up to attend by close of business on Friday, April 6, 2018, by contacting the Office of Boards and Commissions at 410-396-6883.

“Face-Time with Primes” is just one event hosted by DPW to support the economic and business growth and development for local small businesses.  In 2016, DPW launched its Small Business Development Program, a 10-week training session designed to help local small-business owners boost their ability to compete for city construction contracts.  Last year, this successful  program was named a finalist in the Greater Baltimore Committee’s 14th annual “Bridging the Gap” achievement awards program which honors businesses and minority and women-owned firms for efforts to strengthen minority business development.
