October 5-6 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Cancelled
Due to contracting issues beyond our control, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) has cancelled the Household Hazardous Waste collection days scheduled for this weekend, Friday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Northwest Citizens Convenience Center, 2840 Sisson Street.
The facility will still be open to the public to drop off trash and routine recyclables, but unable to collect materials such as oil-based paints, herbicides, pesticides, drain cleaners, and other chemicals.
DPW anticipates a full seven-month Household Hazardous Waste collection schedule in 2019, running the first Friday/Saturday of each month from April to October. If there is a chance to reschedule a collection event before then DPW will notify the public.
Residents may wish to learn more about Household Hazardous Waste and collection options at this Environmental Protection Agency webpage, https://www.epa.gov/hw/household-hazardous-waste-hhw.
