Baltimore Wins Annual Water Taste Test Challenge
Baltimore City has again come out on top at the Chesapeake Section: American Water Works Association's Annual Water Taste Test Challenge, held on May 9 in Crofton. This year the City's Montebello Water Treatment Facility won 1st Place in the Surface Water category, and also won "Best in Show" for the Best Tasting Water.
This year there were a total of 17 competitors, nine for ground water and eight for surface water. This marks the second year in a row that our water has come out on top.
In addition to providing water service to customers in Baltimore City, DPW also provides water to Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County, Harford County, and Anne Arundel County. About 1.8 million people enjoy the best tasting water in the region on a daily basis.
Baltimore will now be entered into the national competition next month in Denver.
