Trash Pickup - Outdoor Dining
Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will provide corner can collection three times a day: in the early morning, around midday, and at night in the commercial areas where there are restaurants with outdoor dining. The Department will also provide proactive rat inspection and abatement in these areas. In Fells Point, the Waterfront Partnership will provide cleaning of nuisance litter along the streets and sidewalks in the business areas.
DPW wants to stress the importance of properly disposing of food waste. Because restaurants have been closed, rodents are aggressively searching for food. Waste that is improperly disposed of may quickly lead to rodent problems. To request rat abatement services, please call 311.
Overall, it is the business owner’s responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of their outdoor dining areas at all times. Businesses are responsible for providing an adequate number of trash, recycling receptacles and for regular trash collection at their facility. All outdoor areas must be returned to a clean, well maintained condition at closing time. Failure to perform adequate clean-up will result in the City of Baltimore issuing possible fees and citations.
