DPW Announces Free Paper Shredding Event
Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark today announced that DPW will offer free paper shredding for Baltimore City residents on Saturday, July 25, 2020. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the parking lot of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (“Poly” High School), 1400 W. Coldspring Lane.
This is an opportunity for Baltimore City residents to safely dispose of sensitive paper documents quickly, easily and securely. Cancelled checks, medical records, credit card information, utility bills, old tax returns and pay stubs are among the many items that can be destroyed by shredding. Once shredded, the documents will be taken directly to a recycling facility.
Residents can bring up to two 32-gallon bags of documents to be shredded. Bags with items other than paper will not be accepted. All event participants must wear a mask and stay in their cars.
Recycling bins will not be sold at this event.
