Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday: DPW Offices, Yards Closed on Monday, January 17
Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell reminds residents that Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 17, 2022, is a City holiday. DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED. Monday, January 17 is not a scheduled trash or recycling collections’ day.
DPW facilities closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to residents and haulers include:
- Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road
- Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road
- Northwest Citizens' Convenience Center, 2840 Sisson Street
- Southwestern Citizens’ Convenience Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue
- Eastern Citizens’ Convenience Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane
Reminder: Bi-Weekly Recycling Starts January 18
Beginning next week, January 18, 2022, DPW will move to bi-weekly collections for recycling, using an alternating A and B cycle system for curbside collection services:
Northeast and Northwest (north of North Avenue) neighborhoods will be on Week A of the alternating schedule, which will start on January 18 - 21. Their following collection will be the week of February 1 - 4.
Southeast and Southwest (south of North Avenue) will be on Week B of the alternating schedule, which will start on January 25 - 28. Their following collection will be the week of February 8 – 11.
