On Thursday, January 19, 2023, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold its annual public meeting to provide an overview of the work covered by the Modified Consent Decree (MCD) for Baltimore City’s sanitary sewer system, especially the Department's work over the past 12 months. The consent decree requires DPW to address overflows from the City’s sanitary sewer system.

The Annual Consent Decree Public Information Session will take place at 1800 Washington Blvd., the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) headquarters in Baltimore. The meeting will start at 6 p.m.

The annual meeting provides an opportunity for residents to receive information about DPW’s work to fulfill the terms of the City’s Modified Consent Decree, a legal agreement between the City of Baltimore and Federal and State regulators, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Maryland Department of the Environment, to address sanitary overflows from the sewer collection system.

Residents will be able to speak with DPW experts at individual learning stations on location. Covered topics will include preventive maintenance programs, upcoming sanitary sewer construction projects, and water quality and compliance. In addition, there will be a learning station to address DPW’s Building Back-up program and long-term plan for Wet Weather Building Backups.

Online Registration

The meeting is free, and the public is invited. However, advance registration is encouraged. To register for the meeting, please use the following Eventbrite link: https://2023MCDPublicInformationSession.eventbrite.com.
