 New Year's Day Closure: Monday, January 2, 2023

In observance of New Year’s Day, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell, Ed.D., reminds residents that DPW offices and Sanitation Yards will be closed Monday, January 2, 2023.

The holiday closure does NOT impact residential trash and recycling collections. However, trash and recycling collections for condos and businesses WILL be affected due to the holiday observance.

DPW facilities will be CLOSED to residents and haulers, including:

• Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road

• Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road

• Northwest Residential Drop-off Center, 2840 Sisson Street

• Southwestern Residential Drop-off Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue

• Eastern Residential Drop-off Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane

Mechanical street sweeping WILL NOT be in effect.

DPW offers free tree mulching services to Baltimore City residents through Saturday, February 4, 2023. Residents must bring their trees to the Northwest Residential Drop-off Center, located at 2840 Sisson Street, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Please ensure that all ornaments, tinsel, and other decoration have been removed from your tree before mulching. Residents should bring bags or containers to collect mulch for their use.

DPW offers curbside collections for residents who cannot bring their trees for mulching. Please set out with weekly trash collections.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce that Baltimore City residential water customers have more time to sign up for Paperless Billing and receive a one-time, 5% discount off a monthly water bill. Residents who enroll in paperless billing by Friday, June 30, will receive the 5% discount.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell reminds residents that Memorial Day is on Monday, May 29, 2023, and is a City-observed holiday. DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED.
