DPW Releases Water Quality Data for 2017
Implementing Electronic Delivery of the Annual Water Report
The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is pleased to announce the release of its Annual Water Quality Report, which provides information on water quality testing done in 2017.
In addition, the Annual Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, informs water customers where the City’s drinking water comes from, how the water is treated, what it contains, and how it meets federal standards for tap water. The 2017 report also explains what happens when a water main breaks and explains the repair process.
“I encourage our water customers to read the Annual Water Quality report to learn about the extensive testing involved in the delivery of drinking water,” said DPW Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E. “DPW’s team of dedicated professionals work around-the-clock to perform nearly 150,000 water quality analyses each year to ensure that we deliver high-quality water to our customers.”
DPW will be using electronic distribution to deliver the City’s water quality report. Previously, the four-page report was mailed to each customer along with a springtime water bill. It is available online: publicworks.baltimorecity.gov/waterreport. Customers who want printed copies of the 2017 report can call 311 or (410) 396-5352. Reports from previous years are available online at publicworks.baltimorecity.gov/water-quality-reports.
Baltimore City and County customers are being notified of the release of the Annual Water Quality report via a message on their water bill. They will see the web address that will take them directly to the report.
