Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., announced that beginning Saturday, January 21, DPW will offer personalized trainings to help customers better understand how to use the online Customer Self Service water bill information portal. The first training session will take place at the Edmondson branch of the Enoch Pratt Library, 4330 Edmondson Avenue in West Baltimore, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on January 21. 

Any customer in the City who receives a bill for water service may register to view their account at https://waterbillportal.baltimorecity.gov/. Customers will need the access code sent in the mail; those who need the code resent to them may request it by visiting the Customer Support Page.

Library computers will be made available at the training sessions so that citizens can familiarize themselves with the new system. The City hopes to train close to 40 residents during the first day of training. An appointment for a personal training session is recommended. Subsequent training sessions have already been scheduled for Saturday, February 18, at the Waverly branch, 400 E. 33^rd Street, and Saturday, March 11, at the Cherry Hill branch, 606 Cherry Hill Road. All sessions run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., and subsequent training sessions will be announced soon.

DPW’s new web portal allows citizens to view their water usage in hourly increments. Knowing how to fully utilize the web portal enables customers to make better decisions when it comes to conserving water, and saving money.

Many citizens have already registered to use the portal and are actively monitoring their usage to detect leaks, dripping faucets, or breaks in the service line or in interior piping that may need a plumber’s intervention.  The Department wants to increase use of the portal by as many customers as possible.
