Bulk Trash Pickup and Large Item Removal
Request a bulk trash pickup
City of Baltimore residents can put out up to 3 bulk items for trash collection each month.
Bulk trash collection is scheduled for a specific Saturday every month. Call 311 to find out your bulk trash day, or use 311 Online.
When you call or connect, please tell us:
- Your address
- Your telephone number
- What 3 items you'd like picked up
Please call us 4 or more working days before your scheduled Saturday collection date. This will allow us to add your address and items to the pickup schedule.
What bulk items are allowed?
Bulk items that we will pick up are:
- Sofas, chairs, and other furniture
- Mattresses and box springs
- Appliances
- Up to 4 tires with the rims removed
- Items that won’t fit into your trash can
What bulk items are not allowed?
We do not pick up the following:
- Building materials such as sheetrock, siding, wood pieces, or roofing
- Auto parts and pieces
- Paint or stain
- Flammable or hazardous waste
Be prepared for pickup: Where to leave bulky items
All items must be clearly marked "bulk collection," and placed at the same location as your regular trash pickup.
Residents with a rear pickup should leave items at the end of the yard and leave the gate unlocked.
Please help our collection crews by setting your bulk items out by 7:00 am on the pickup day, and keeping pets confined indoors.
Other options for bulk items
- Residents may use Residential Drop-Off Centers to dispose of items at no cost. You can drop off trash or recycling items.
- Residents are also able to hire a small hauler to dispose of bulk items or excess trash. Please ask the small hauler you hire where they dispose of their items, to help prevent illegal dumping.
