School Recycling

DPW provides recycling collection services to Baltimore City Public and Private Schools who opt into the program. 
School recycling will be collected one time per week from each registered school. There is no cost for registered schools participating in DPW’s School Recycling Program. To register your school, complete the form below. Only one (1) registration form is required for each school.

To register for the 2023-2024 School Recycling Program please complete the registration form and a member of DPW will send a confirmation email indicating your school’s assigned collection day within 5-7 business days.

  • Recycling must be placed on in a dedicated dumpster, in cardboard boxes, or labeled recycling bins.
  • No plastic bags and/or no loose recycling will be collected.
  • Participation in the School Recycling Program may be forfeited if three (3) consecutive weeks pass, and your school does not place recycling at its designated pick-up location. (*Note: If this occurs, a new request form must be submitted to restart your school’s recycling.) 

When is my schools recycling day?

School Recycling collection will follow the schedule below:
Northwest - Tuesday 
Southwest - Wednesday
Northeast - Thursday
Southeast – Friday

Acceptable bins/sources to purchase

City schools are responsible for obtaining recycling receptacles, including bins, carts, or dumpsters. DPW will only provide collection services. Baltimore City Public Schools has additional resources available for purchase in the Recycling Toolkit

Summer school recycling

DPW provides summer recycling collection services to Baltimore City Public and Private Schools who opt into the program. If you would like to receive summer collection, you must opt in to the Summer School Recycling Program even if you have previously participated in the recycling program during the regular school year.
